November is National Lung Cancer Month
Published on November 8, 2012.

November is National Lung Cancer Month.  Lung cancer often does not cause symptoms until the disease has reached an advanced stage.  Early detection in high risk populations has been proven to improve survival.  If you are or have been a smoker consider low dose chest CT screening for lung cancer.  Other risk factors include occupational carcinogens (silica, cadmium, asbestos, arsenic, beryllium, chromium, diesel fumes and nickel), previous cancer, family history of lung cancer, COPD, and pulmonary fibrosis.

Consult your family physician about making an appointment for a screening today.
