By William F. Muhr, Jr., M.D., D.A.B.R., CEO of South Jersey Radiology
South Jersey Radiology is now providing valuable information for our patients and readers through our new Blog Series. You may visit our Blog on our Web site: https://www.sjra.com/category/blog
I am delighted to introduce renowned and inspiring author Norma E. Roth as a featured blogger for South Jersey Radiology. Norma’s blogs will educate women about the importance of breast health and proactive proactive medical care.
Norma will address a variety of topics – breast density, 3D Mammography (also known as Tomosynthesis), why you should only choose a dedicated women’s imaging center for your annual mammogram, what a mammogram call back really means, and more. She hopes to allay the fears that women have regarding mammography and a breast cancer diagnosis. But most importantly, she shares South Jersey Radiology’s mission to save lives!
A breast cancer diagnosis reignited Norma’s writing and speaking career. Her 2010 book, “Pink Ribbon Journey,” chronicles the lives of breast cancer survivors, caregivers, and nationally recognized physicians, including Harvard-educated South Jersey Radiology breast imager Catherine Piccoli, MD. Norma now dedicates her writing to health wellness and sustainable living with a focus on breast health. Her stories have been featured in the Burlington County Times. She has also partnered with the University of Pennsylvania’s Basser Research Center to create the “Stories from the Heart” project. Drawing from her own medical journey and lifelong experience with familial breast cancer, Norma advocates for annual mammography screening, believing strongly that early detection is the key to survival.
